Josh Webb wins day out at Gunn & Moore factory and receives his very own 5* English willow bat worth £200.00!

Marling School boy Josh Webb (13) was the lucky winner of a fantastic prize in a competition run by Bateman's Sports, of Stroud. The prize was a trip to the Gunn & Moore cricket bat factory in Nottingham and a five star Gunn & Moore cricket bat donated by Andy Bateman.

Josh said:

"We had a fantastic day at the factory in Nottingham.  We got to see how the wood is graded for the different quality bats, how the handles were spliced into the blades and how the blades were pressed and shaped.  It was brilliant to see the skillful techniques of the workmen at the factory - some of the techniques have hardly changed since cricket was first born.  But we did also see some of the modern high-tech machines that they use as well."

 

Josh was then presented with his five-star bat kindly donated by Andy Bateman. This was also engraved with Josh's name to make it all the more special.
